What's New

This page provides information on new activities at this year's event.

Streamed Strands

This year based on previous feedback a small element of streaming has been introduced to the workshop. The streaming will take place on the day 2 (Wednesday 29 July) afternoon (see the programme for more explanation). The two strands will concentrate on different areas of Web management. The Front-end strand is more marketing, communications and management focussed while the Back-end is more technically focussed. (These terms are borrowed from the US EduWeb conference). While parallel sessions are taking place for the back-end strand plenaries will be taking place for the Front-end strand and vice versa. Delegates can only pick one parallel session for Wednesday afternoon. When they are not attending their parallel session they will be available to attend the plenaries taking place.

Developers Lounge

This year a developer's lounge will be available throughout the Institutional Web Management Workshop. This will be a comfortable space with good WiFi access in which developers can work on projects, meet and chat about possible collaborations.

For more information on activities taking place in the lounge see the lounge page.

Quiet Area

This year there will be a quiet area in the main lecture theatre. This will be an area for those not keen to participate in use of mobile devices and networked technologies or who would like to avoid being filmed during the video streaming.

Exhibition

As well as the ususal sponsorship programme this year's Institutional Web Management Workshop will feature a small exhibition in the refreshment area.
