By Train

Bath Spa station has frequent services to London, Bristol and South Wales, allowing connections to the rest of the UK. Once you arrive at Bath Spa station you can get a bus up the hill to the University (see below).

By Plane

The nearest airport is Bristol International Airport.

From the airport you can get the Airport Flyer Express Link bus to Bristol city centre and then take the train to Bath. This costs £7 single with departures every 10 minutes or so during the day. The journey to Bristol Temple Meads train station takes about 30 minutes.

Alternatively the A4 airport bus service which goes to Bath was opened earlier this year. The journey time is just over an hour. An adult single costs £11 and a return costs £17. The bus leaves the airport once an hour at 30 minutes past the hour. The bus departs from Dorchester Street, Bath once an hour on the hour. See the timetable (PNG image format) for further details.

Our recommendation would be to go for the simplicity of the A4 aiport bus service. Note once you arrive in Bath you will need to take a bus up the hill to the University. Information on the buses is given below.

Bus Travel

There are two bus services to the University which depart from the bus station (near the train station). These are the 18 (First Bus Company) and the U18 (Uniconnect, blue bus). You can purchase return tickets and day passes, but not the tickets are not transferrable across the two services. See the public transport page for more information.
