What Next?

Delegate information for IWMW 2013

This page provides the delegate information for IWMW 2013 participants.

The following information will be sent in an email message to registered delegates on 17 June 2013.

Venue

The conference will take place on the Claverton Down campus at the University of Bath. All main sessions and refreshment breaks will take place in Building 3WN with accommodation in Woodland Court. Information on travelling to the venue and a number of maps of the campus can be found on the IWMW 2013 travel page.

Registration

Registration will take place in 3WN (see campus map) from 09.30 am until 17.00 on Wednesday 26 June 2013.

A registration/information desk will be available throughout the conference.

Parallel Sessions

All parallel sessions will take place in Building 8W. You should have registered for your parallel session when you filled in your booking form. Information regarding the allocation and location of parallel sessions will be available in the envelope you will be given with your pack. If you have not been issued a choice then please speak to someone at the registration desk. Please contact Natasha Bishop events@ukoln.ac.uk if you have any questions.

If you have not yet booked your parallel session then you will be able to choose from the sessions that still have spaces available when you register.

Network Usage

You should have given information on the type of network connection you will require during the workshop when you filled in your booking form. Delegates who are part of the Eduroam system will be able to use their normal login and password.

If you have noted that you cannot/will not use Eduroam, a password and user name will be available at registration.

It is the delegate's responsibility that their laptops and mobile devices have the correct settings and firewalls installed. Information on Eduroam and the use of networked applications is available at on the IWMW 2013 Web site.

Please note that there will be no printing facilities available at the University so if you have boarding passes etc please ensure these are printed off before you arrive.

Online Technologies

The Twitter hashtag for the event is #iwmw13.

The IWMW 2013 is available on Lanyrd and on the Bizzabo mobile app. Note that the Bizzabo app (which is available for Apple and Android mobile devices) provides access to the programme together with a communication channel with other participants.

Also note that as described in a blog post on "Benefits of IWMW Event Beyond Its Main Purposes" as well as providing a means for communciations and developing your professional network use of these tools may be of interest for advising on their applicability for local use.

Accommodation

Ensuite accommodation for speakers and delegates will be located in Woodland Court which is situated at the East End of the campus. You may also wish to see the campus map.

The rooms are basic single student rooms. Towels, bedding, a pillow pack (shampoo and shower gel), are provided. Tea and coffee facilities are available in the kitchens on each floor of the accommodation.

All meals will be provided at the conference up to and including breakfast on 28th June. Please note an evening meal is not provided on the night of 25th June (see below). Breakfast will be in the Claverton Rooms.

Check in

Check in is from 2pm at the main reception at East Accommodation Centre Woodland Court.

Late arrivals - keys are available from security in the Library.

Check out

Check out is at 10am on the day of departure. Limited luggage storage will be available but it is suggested that, if you come by car, your luggage should be stored in your car.

Tuesday night accommodation

For those of you who have booked Tuesday night accommodation, check in will be the same as above.

Parking

Parking at the university is run by an external agency and is very strict so if you are driving please note carefully the following. Permits are available for the duration of the conference at a cost of £5.50. These are available from the registration desk. Please come and get your permit as soon as you arrive at the University as you only have about 10 minutes grace to come and get your permit before being ticketed. If you arrive before registration opens please go to the library security desk where you can buy a permit directly.

Other things to remember:

  • Ensure your permit is correctly completed and displayed
  • Park correctly in the parking bay

Social Events

The social events are included in your registration fee. On the first evening (Wednesday 26th June) there will be a Drinks Reception in The Calverton Rooms on campus followed by a conference dinner. Drinks will be served at 7 pm with dinner at 7.30pm.

On the second evening (Thurssday 27th June) there will be a drinks reception at The Roman Baths. The drinks reception begins at 7pm and afterwards t here is free time in which delegates can eat at one of the many restaurants in Bath. The drinks reception will finish at 8pm.

Please note that delegates will have to make their own way back to campus by bus or taxi. Further details on the social events including restaurants and transport information are available from the IWMW 2013 social page.
